What clinched it for me was when I read the "About Us" section. e-lottery was started by Tom Brodie and Len Fitzgerald. The idea behind the business was the realisation; "It occurred to us that there isn’t a single person on this planet who doesn’t want to scoop a fortune on the lottery — just like us. But of course, actually winning depends on Lady Luck giving you a great big beaming smile on a lovely, life-changing day. Yet we pondered… Rather than having one or two lucky folks walk off with more multi-millions than they know what to do with every week, what if there was a way to play lotteries that improves the lives of numerous people all willing to share in the big payouts?... that would give everyone a better chance." This was my sentiments exactly. I joined up the same night. I initially joined the a Euro Millions syndicate, because after all, it was the mention of the Euro Millions which had caused me to click the link in the first place. I liked the idea that two stars were always guaranteed. On my first draw I won 25p. Actually I was quite excited because it's more than I had ever won on the Euro Millions lottery before. Yes....you've guessed it, I'd never won, even a penny before. For the last 5 years I had been spending £7 ($13US) every week on the lottery. Apart from the very occasional 3 number £10 win I won very little. The only exception was about two years ago (in 2004) when I got 4 numbers, 3 or 4 weeks apart. I didn't realise until now just how 'lucky' that was. According to the odds, you will get 4 numbers about once in every 10 years. Last week I decided to stop playing the UK Lotto on my own and added the UK Lotto to my e-lottery portfolio. Unbelievably I won £14.06 on the very first draw. I had 3 numbers out of 5 with the 6th guaranteed. I won a total of £14.06. Amazing, I hadn't even won a tenner playing by myself for over a year. It's now Saturday, 26th November, 2006. I've just received my first check with my winnings. It's my 2nd draw in the UK Lotto with e-lottery. I've got two numbers. This means I've won another 82p. Fantastic. I'm not used to winning so often! It's 1st December and I've just been handed my redundancy notice today. I've been treated pretty badly over this. They've decided to keep a chap who has been on a temporary contract for a year, instead of me, who's worked for the company for over 11 years. He is 29 and I'm much much older. Mmmm? I have appealed but I don't hold out much hope. Oops, that means I NEED TO WIN THE JACKPOT!!! On Sunday 10th Dec I found I had another win. Not quite the Jackpot but I won £3.70 on the UK Lottery e-lottery syndicate on Saturday. Maybe the Jackpot on Wednesday? |
