If you want to increase your chances even further then the only way is to increase the number of different lines that you play.  At £1 for each line this can rapidly get very expensive.

A practical alternative is to play the lottery as part of a syndicate.  The more lines your syndicate or group buys, the more entries you have in each game, and the more chances you have of winning! Whilst it’s true that any winnings are split between the syndicate members this does not necessarily mean that you will win less than if you played by yourself.  More on that later.

Many people play as part of a syndicate at work. Typically syndicates have between 5 and 50 members. Here is how you actually win more than if you were playing by yourself. If you match 5 numbers playing by yourself you will typically win £1,656.  If you match your 5 numbers in the syndicate, the 6^th match is guaranteed thus your syndicate wins the Jackpot.  The syndicate also gets the 5+bonus win as well.  Assuming a typical £2.8m Jackpot your share of the winning for matching 5 balls is nearly £62,000.  Not bad!
